About Ysgol Dôlafon
Ysgol Dôlafon sits beside the beautiful River Irfon in Llanwrtyd Wells, surrounded by stunning scenery and peaceful countryside. Our picturesque setting provides a truly special place for our children to learn, play and grow.
We are a small and welcoming primary school for children aged 4–11, with a caring on-site provision for three-year-olds known as Dôlafon Ducklings. From the very beginning, children are supported to feel happy, confident and part of our ‘Un Teulu Mawr.’
As an English-medium school, we celebrate a wide range of cultures, traditions and languages. Welsh is taught as a second language, and we proudly take part in a range of Eisteddfod competitions, helping our children develop a love and appreciation for Welsh culture and heritage.
Our ‘Teulu’ curriculum reflects our school vision and values. Learning is meaningful, engaging and rooted in real experiences. We aim to equip our children with the skills, knowledge and attributes they need to flourish in an ever-changing world, encouraging them to believe in themselves and achieve their very best.
We are especially proud of our extensive grounds. With two playgrounds, a large grassed play area, sports pitches, woodland, an orchard, a pond, a meadow and a vegetable garden, there is plenty of space for adventure and discovery. Our outdoor areas provide rich opportunities for exploration and hands-on learning, making every day exciting and memorable.
These wonderful spaces have been developed and cared for by our learners, staff, parents and governors, and we continue to nurture and improve them—just as we nurture and support our children.
We hope our website gives you a flavour of life at Ysgol Dôlafon, and we warmly invite you to come and see our school for yourself.
